What Would Nick Do?
Personal Trainers
Nick Kentrolis

Nick has been in the fitness industry since 1985 and he is certified as an exercise specialist, personal trainer and also TRX. He and his wife, Wanda, own and operate The Crest in the Galleria Shopping Center. The Crest originally opened in 1984 on Wrightsville Beach. Nick and Wanda took over and renovated the original beach location in 2002. They sold their interest in their award winning World Gym to work in a smaller environment to work closely with their members to teach them the truth about how to achieve their fitness goals with classic fitness programs that work.

Nick has competed nationally as a N.A.S.A. (natural athlete strength association) power lifter and has set many North Carolina and National records. As a NPC Bodybuilder he has many State and National level awards. He has been a North Carolina Fitness America judge and has trained many body builders, fitness models, actors and actresses.

When training with Nick you will learn the basic fundamentals of resistance training and nutrition. You will have the same knowledge that all the professional athletes have. You will be guided though the theory of progressive overload so you will get consistent, long-term results that you will keep instead of quick results that you will lose. There are no quick fixes and you can't get there overnight.

Matt Lewis
Matt is a member of the Eastern Surf Kayaking Association and the US Surf Kayaking Team his certifications are through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, TRX group and private. He is also an EMT and works part time for the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department. Matt has been with The Crest since November 2009. He teaches our basic TRX classes, works with most of our post rehab clients in addition to those who just want to get their butt kicked.
Adam Freeman

Adam was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. Active in sports his whole life, he played baseball and wrestled in high school before getting a scholarship to play baseball at Louisburg College in North Carolina. Plans of getting drafted to play professional baseball fell short when a career ending injury sent Adam straight to a long term rehabilitation program where he gained the insight of how important a personal trainer can be to anyone, even a high level athlete.

Adam finished college and continued his education through the National Academy of Sports Medicine where he became a Certified Personal Trainer. In 2001, Adam began his personal training career at FitCare Life Center in Huntersville, North Carolina. Adam trained a wide variety of clientele from all ages and walks of life. Adam is highly experienced in endurance training, weight management, muscle enhancement, sports specific and many different levels of disabilities.

After learning from some of the top personaltrainers in the Charlotte area, Adam transferred to Bally Total Fitness. He was quickly promoted to become the Personal Training Director. Adam's duties were to hire and train a staff of 24 highly certified personal trainers to get the best results for their clients. Adam was beyond successful, not by the awards his team won, but by seeing several hundred clients achieve their goals and the results they set out for.

After Adam's daughter, Kayleigh Anne Freeman, went to Heaven in May 2009, Adam packed up and moved to start a new life in Wilmington, NC. Kayleigh had taught Adam more about giving than receiving, which has completely changed Adam's outlook on life.

He is highly involved with the March of Dimes and American Heart Association. Kayleigh (A One Pound Blessing from God) was a miracle and touched many lives across the globe through her miraculous journey.
You can visit her story at: www.KayleighAnneFreeman.blogspot.com

As a man who wants to be a strong leader and do God's will, Adam puts other people's lives in front of his own and wants to take the knowledge that God has blessed him with for the sole purpose of changing as many lives as he possibly can through fitness.

If you ever see Adam out somewhere, don't forget to say hello because you will certainly get a gentle welcoming in return.

Chantay Allen

Group Fitness Instrucor
Personal Trainer

Health and wellness first peaked her interest as a high school Biology student when she realized there was a connection between diet, exercise and chronic illness. After high school, she studied Nutrition at  Meredith College and was the Secretary of the Meredith Nutrition & Wellness Club. Having a passion for working with people and a love of the great outdoors, Chantay spent a summer being a Camp Counselor at the age of 19, where she practiced leadership skills, learned rope course and lake activities. While working, she later completed an Associate of Arts Degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences at Citrus College in Glendora, CA.  Prior to her employment at Crest Fitness, she was an Assistant to the Personal Trainers at LA Fitness in La Verne, California and managed four General Nutrition Centers in two different states. Through career and life experience, Chantay made the decision to transfer to UNCW in order to major in Public Sociology with a Discipline in Health & Aging and a Minor in Community Health. As a nationally certified Group Fitness Leader and Personal Trainer, her mission at Crest Fitness is to educate members about the importance of sensible nutrition, regular moderate exercise and help them have FUN getting results in a safe, friendly environment.
