How do I know if Personal Training is for me?

We suggest that you start with a ‘First Workout’. This is a complimentary session provided by the Personal Trainer to determine your fitness motivation and immediate goals. This session will also provide you with an orientation to the selectorized equipment followed by a ‘dynamic workout’- a true taste of Personal Training. The dynamic workout will include an exercise for each muscle group followed by an assisted stretch leaving you feeling fatigued, rejuvenated and relaxed!

How much Personal Training do I need?

The amount of Personal Training that you need depends upon you and your goals. Beginners and individuals seeking rapid results may want 2 to 3 sessions per week until a pattern is established; others may benefit from 1 to 2 sessions a week as a “maintenance” routine. Your trainer will gladly make a recommendation for your desired program.

Nick Kentrolis

Owner

Nick has been a fitness expert since 1986 and has achieved greatly in the fitness community. In 1988 he achieved his 1st fitness certification, as an exercise specialist from Dr. Michael Marks of UNC Chapel Hill and is also certified through NSCA, IFTA and TRX. As an example of a pure athlete, he competed nationally as a N.A.S.A. (National Athlete Strength Association) power lifter, setting many North Carolina and National records. As an NPC bodybuilder, he won many state and national level awards. In the late 1990’s he was also honored to be a North Carolina Fitness America judge. He has developed award winning gyms, revitalized waning fitness programs throughout the southeastern United States and most importantly helped thousands achieve their fitness goals including men and women of a wide variety of ages and types from bodybuilders/fitness models to actor/actresses to couch potatoes.

After selling his interest in the international award award winning World Gym of Wilmington in 2002, Nick and his lovely wife, Wanda took over and ran The Crest Fitness Club until June 30, 2021. On February 17, 2021, Nick suffered a mycotic aneurysm rupture caused by a bacterial infection stemming from his gums with catastrophic hemorrhaging. This caused a stroke and endocarditis which led to open-heart surgery to replace his aortic heart valve and repair other damaged valves. Nick was in intensive care for over a month but as soon he was transferred to his own room, he asked Wanda to bring him his cell phone and laptop, so he could get back to work. In April of that year, Wanda, and his neurosurgeon insisted that he stop working for a year, sell or close The Crest IMMEDIATELY to let his brain heal. June 30, 2021 was the final day for The Crest Fitness Club of Wrightsville beach. In 2022, Nick has brought crestfitness.com back to life and is now offering personal fitness training programs at Transform Personal Training in Monkey Junction so he can continue to help change people’s lives through proper fitness training & nutrition. Nick scoffs at false promises of quick fixes. He understands how to help his personal training clients get consistent, long-term results. His clients learn the fundamentals of resistance training and nutrition, the inside information that professional athletes use and the proven theory of progressive overload and now can add stroke recovery to his long list of specialties. Nick is committed to his family, his personal training clients and the fitness community.
